Town Hall Theatre

As Loughborough’s premier venue, the Town Hall stages a wide range of entertainment and arts events throughout the year. The theatre offers the best in touring productions, including ballet, drama, music and comedy, and is the venue for local amateur productions. The annual pantomime is the highlight of a programme of events for families, that include special productions at half-term. In addition, the regular monthly Literature at Lunchtime talks provide keen readers with fresh insight into their favourite works.

LOUGHBOROUGH has a wide range of activities and entertainment to suit all tastes and ages ... from cinemas and nightclubs, to concerts and community events. In addition to a busy calendar of events at the Town Hall, Loughborough University offers a range of arts events and talks throughout the academic year.

Loughborough  Fair

The annual autumn street fair brings a welcome glow to the town, with a multitude of rides and attractions filling the town centre. Fairs have been held in the town for more than seven centuries, following the granting of a Royal Charter in 1221 by King Henry III to the Lord of the Manor, Hugh le Despencer. Traditionally held on St. Peter’s day, it is now staged each year over a four-day period in the second week of November.

University Arts events

Loughborough University Arts (LUA) offers a programme of campus events using both the Cope Auditorium (above) and the Martin Hall Theatre. These include literature talks, classical and folk music concerts and recitals, National Theatre drama productions, University Choir concerts and Stage Society shows. In addition, the university students’ union hosts a range of events that include music, performance poetry and workshops— some of them are students only, so check the LUA web site for full details of each event.
