Shops to suit all tastes...
There’s nothing like a bit of retail therapy for lifting the spirits in these challenging times and Loughborough can certainly offer a range of ‘treatments’ to suit most tastes and pockets, ranging from small independent specialist shops to larger mainstream national retail outlets, such as Marks and Spencer, Next and Primark. Many of the major chain stores can be found in the town’s principal shopping precincts, The Rushes and Carillon Court, while Churchgate Mews offers a range of shops catering for those seeking something out of the ordinary.
The twice weekly street markets, held on Saturday and Thursday, remain a key part of the Loughborough shopping experience with dozens of stalls offering a wide range of products, including fresh foods, such as meat and fish, clothes and household goods. In addition, the Market Place also hosts regular farmers’ markets, a Friday Bric-a-brac market and occasional specialist markets featuring produce from countries such as France and Italy.
